As industries such as gaming, E-learning and commercial advertisement continue to grow, so does the demand for voiceovers. In fact, 2017 marked the highest ever growth for the voiceover market, with demand increasing by over 900%.  And still, demand continues to grow daily. 

Whilst most people think of VO’s as characters and accents, they actually play a vital role in much of what we listen to. Think commercials, explainer videos, radio, audiobooks. Just about any product that needs a voice will require a VO.

My name is Jo Troy. Two years ago I was unemployed after being made redundant. Today, I’m an award winning voice actor who’s worked with the likes of Sony, BBC and NIKE, as well as radio stations throughout the UK. But my journey wasn’t all smooth sailing.I made many mistakes and had to overcome huge learning curves to get where I am today. 

Now I want to help other VOs kick start their journey and avoid the setbacks I had. When I first got into the industry I quickly noticed that resources were everywhere. You’d have thought this would be good right? Well, not exactly. I quickly ran into an information overload and felt as clueless as when I’d first started.
